My Experiment: Day 3 In the Present

Chapter 3 of Turn Your Face by Barbara Linney is about going after what you want. I really enjoyed this section because I got to know the author a little better. She shares how she drove 200 miles each day for three years to earn her PhD in English, only to be sabotaged by her professor. She puts it more kindly, but that’s what he did. I’m starting to understand why Barbara says the things she does. Only a generation ago, women were treated more like children than grown adults. No wonder they started burning their bras. (more…)
