I am at the point in my life that I have long planned for. My husband is exactly where he belongs in his career, our children are nearly grown and fully equipped to succeed in both marriage and career, and I have had time to rediscover myself and form a career I can really enjoy for the next few decades. Unfortunately feminism has convinced most women that the concept of the wingspouse is archaic, and men are not socialized to be in the role in the first place. It’s just so obvious that an executive who wants to succeed and have a well-rounded family life NEEDS a wingspouse. Most of the professional women that are my wife’s peers are expected to do most of the support roles for the husband and even many of the husbands find their resources diverted. This isn’t even counting the couples who are divorced. What I give my wife makes her road so much easier. (more…)

Family Friendly Feminists
Whether or not you like Sarah Palin as a politician, you have to give her credit for speaking up for those of us who consider ourselves feminists without an agenda. A recent LA TImes article shows that the LA Times is one of the first major media to recognize that a new and more family-friendly feminist is emerging. Finally, someone gets it.
This begs the question: Are feminists becoming conservative, or are conservatives the new and improved feminist?
